A well designed space should
be a respite from the conditions of contemporary life. JOLA
designs spaces using simple geometry and natural materials to engage
the senses and promote contemplation, relaxation and play. We
specialize in urban design - high-use landscapes in complex
urban contexts.
JOLA
focuses on producing an environmentally green and
sustainable landscape - integrating
sustainable design strategies
through site ecology and emergent technologies. The
U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) established the
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program
to develop industry standards and guidelines to support the
adoption of sustainable design and building practices.
We embrace this ideology and integrate these practices into
all of our designs. Native plant ecology and water
efficiency are an inherent part or our landscape and
irrigation design. Hardscape designs incorporate local
sources and materials to reduce the overall impact on the
environment. The firm's Principal, Jacqueline Owens is
a LEED
Accredited Professional.
Our portfolio includes plazas, streetscapes, parks,
planned developments, urban communities,
eco-resorts,
recreational spaces and pool design. We offer services in
Site Layout, Planning and Permitting, Hardscape Design, Planting Design, Lighting Design, Project Management,
Irrigation Design, and Construction Bidding and Observation.
