This building was the first major redevelopment project in the Power District by the Gainesville Community Redevelopment Agency. It was transformed from a vacant warehouse into office space for the primary tenant - Prioria Robotics. JOLA Scope of Services included landscape and irrigation design and courtyard design.
Plant materials consisted of native and xeric species designed to survive with limited or no irrigation. Natural materials were used (gravel, shredded hardwood mulch and pine straw) to create a pedestrian circulation path throughout the space. The Courtyard is designed to accommodate a future bocce ball court in the center walkway. Fig leave vine was planted at the base of the back wall to cover the space with a green carpet of leaves at maturity, with large shade trees periodically planted to provide a comfortable microclimate. Future benches and tables will be added as the space becomes fully occupied.
